Frequently asked questions
- Is CertifHy Canada part of the European CertifHy Consortium?
No, CertifHy Canada is a Canadian business and has no affiliation with the EU CertifHy project.
- Can you certify my hydrogen as 'Green' or 'Blue'?
Currently the definition of 'Green' is certification scheme specific as there is no agreed upon definition. The Government of Canada is trying to avoid the use of a colour coding scheme and instead focus on the carbon intensity of the hydrogen regardless of how it was produced. We do not subscribe to a certification scheme so CertifHy Canada would not certify the hydrogen, instead we would perform an LCA and verify the carbon intensity of the hydrogen. It is then dependent on the customers definition of 'Green', 'Blue', or low-carbon as to whether the hydrogen meets the criteria.
